Ready to hoist!
Small crew for a good showing. In Occitan, “Boulègue” means “get a move on”, “move around”… And that is exactly what Vincent , Christine, Emmanuel, Boris, Nicolas and Bruno intend to do.
Most of the crew have already sailed the Tour de Nouvelle-Calédonie on other boats. Vincent Trinquet, the skipper, was a member of France’s youth squad sailing Lasers. He has taken part in a few Tour de France à la voile, in the Spi Ouest France as well as the Pacific Games. In addition, Emmanuel gained a third place in real time onboard “Away Again Province Nord” in the 2012 Groupama Race, and was second by only 83 seconds to “Chairman-Odm.nc”, the winner that year.
United in a new quest, the crew are getting on with their preparations, enthusiastic, but with purpose, for this, another race. They share their passion and their motivation with Poindimié Primary School class CM2 B.
These 22 pupils from the Northern Province have visited the not-quite 10m mono-hull. Since then, they too dream of ocean crossings and adventure!
During the race, they will be encouraging Vincent. They intend applauding when “Boulège-Pao-Prod” is off their east coast commune.
