This yacht is amongst the most technically advanced in New-Caledonia. Fitted with a canting keel, she is expected to be the fastest in real time. In 2014, Frank Cammas shipped on board this sporty prototype. She came in second in real time, beaten by Crusader from New Zealand, the current race record holder in 3d 18h 54m.
The competitive crew includes sailors of experience such as Yann Rigal (a few Tours de France à la Voile and a recent participation in the SB20 World Championships held in Portugal), or Alan Quéré (sailed four Groupama Races including three as skipper).
This year there two new first class recruits. Jean-Marie Dauris, who is full-time instructor at the joint CNC/Southern Province Nautical Activities Complex, is in the crew. Former French match racing champion, this professional sailor took part in the Sydney Olympics and the America’s Cup. Alongside him, the youngest crew member, Mo Chauvin, not quite of age, won the last Young Sailors’ Trophy with a crew from the Lapérouse Senior High School.
