On board Odyssey, they know how to live life! With only three sails on board, one of which is a mains’l on a furler, this yacht does not compare with racing machines, where only speed and VMG* count.
“When I entered, I thought that there would be other boats, more cruiser than racer, in our class. We are taking part with the aim of sharing a human adventure with some mates. When necessary, we will spare our mount” Bruno, the skipper, admitted.
Amongst their crew, there is David Dunot, who has already sailed a Groupama Race as crew on board BCI Radical Concept, second on handicap in 2014. On the other hand, Bruno and his wife Beatrice followed the last Groupama Race very closely. Their eldest daughter, Lauren, was the youngest crew member on board Mange Mieux Bouge Plus, the handicap winner that year! This year, it will be the children who will be offering encouragement to this crew of adventurers!
* VMG – velocity made good – VMG is the component of a sailing yacht's velocity that is in the direction of the target mark
