“Our crew is, above all, a group of friends who love sailing together from Walpole to Vanuatu, via the East Coast and the Île des Pins,” explains skipper Olivier Dondrille. “Having started from scratch four years ago, the Furious gang is still striving to improve and enjoy every moment at sea — perfectly symbolized by our emblem: the Axe and the Corkscrew, representing the crew’s fighting spirit and friendliness.”

For the team, the decision to join this new edition of the Groupama Race was made right after the 2022 race: “We immediately started listing all the improvements we needed to make,” recalls the skipper. The 2025 edition will be an opportunity for them to face the elements, the other competitors, “but most of all, to face ourselves in this beautiful human adventure!” During the last edition, the crew showed strong unity in the face of adversity: “The most unforgettable memory was gybing into a heavy squall before the Havannah Pass,” says Olivier. “The boat laid flat, the spinnaker tore from top to bottom, and two crewmates were clinging to the mast. We fought, got the boat back up, and 10 minutes later everyone was euphoric, singing at the top of their lungs with waves crashing all around us. I thought to myself—I could sail to the ends of the earth with a crew like this…“
