GIROUETTE : Father and daughter taking on the ocean !

Caledonian Boat: Bongo 9.60
Type: Monohull
Crew: Noa (skipper) and Hervé (co-skipper)
Number of participation in the Groupama Race (including 2025): 2nd participation for the boat, 1st for the crew.

A father and daughter united by the same passion: sailing. At just 27 years old, Noa is no stranger to regattas. A former high-level athlete and a member of the French Nacra 17 team, she spent ten years on the water as a crew member. But this time, she is switching roles and taking the helm. “The world of offshore sailing is still uncharted territory for me,” she admits. “I don’t even know if I’ll get seasick!”

By her side, she can count on Hervé, 54 years old—none other than her father. And he is no novice. A former mountaineer turned sailor, he has already completed a double-handed crossing to Australia without an autopilot. His strengths? Tenacity and patience.

As for their boat, it has its own stories to tell. Built in 2004 in Brest, it first sailed along the Breton coast before heading for New Caledonia in 2008. Unlike its crew, this won’t be its first time participating in the Groupama Race… People often say muscles have memory, perhaps the same can be said for the wood that shapes this sailboat!

“At the end of 2024, we took over this sailboat with a project that is as much about sport as it is about human connection: racing the 2025 Groupama Race double-handed, as a father-daughter team“, explain Noa and Hervé.

One thing is certain: the adventure is only just beginning !
